Neoplatonism 1: Plotinus

Description
A close reading of the Enneads of Plotinus, the 3rd century Greek philosopher widely regarded as the founder of "Neoplatonism." Attention will be given to the development of his views over time, based largely on the composition chronology given by his student Porphyry. Prerequisite: some knowledge of Greek philosophy.
