This course engages theologies that emerged after WWII, addressing early debates about the nature of theological language and its role in relation to social problems. Readings include Paul Tillich, Karl Barth, Wilfred Cantwell Smith, Gustavo GutiƩrrez, James Cone, Gordon Kaufman, Elizabeth Johnson and others.
