Meaning Making - Thinking Theologically about Ministry Experience: Seminar
Emily Click and Dudley Corwin Rose
This course is designed for students in their first field education placement concurrent with the academic year. It focuses on exploring the theological dimensions of students' field education experience. Attendance at one of the two identical introductory sessions on 'Meaning Making: Understanding the Minister's Role in Making Theological Sense of Life Experience' is required of all course participants. There are two dates offered for this introductory session: Friday, September 6th at 10am, Sperry room and Tuesday, September 10th at 5pm in Andover Hall room 102. Students should choose one session to attend. At that session, students will be asked to sign up for either Wednesday or Thursday class meetings at 5pm or a Wednesday morning class at 8am. Students will be assigned to one instructor and will meet with the same group on the same evening or morning of the week for the whole year. The course generally meets every other week with the exception of the first several meetings which meet consecutively. The schedule of class meetings also includes a mandatory session on boundaries in the spring term.
