Description
We will read autobiographical works by contemporary Western Muslims as well as by Westerners of Arab and Iranian heritage (Christian and Jewish as well as Muslim) paying particular attention to issues of identity, religion and gender and exploring how these are at play in the text and in authorial constructions of the self.
