Description

The course examines the major intellectual, political and sociocultural trends in the Arab world, from the anti-colonial struggle to self-determination. Topics include Arab nationalism, political reform, cultural production, economic development, and the emergence of the Arabian Gulf. Note: Bi-lingual sectioning will be provided for students who may select to read primary sources either in Arabic or English. Note: Course has additional hour to be arranged.
