The Summation of Hindu Theology (Vedartha Samgraha) of Ramanuja

A seminar on Ramanujas (10th-11th c.) Vedartha Samgraha, dedicated to a theistic reading of Upanisads and Vedanta, defending devotion, synthesizing an integral view of God, world, and self, while criticizing alternative Vedanta readings of the Upanisads. Meant for students interested in closely reading Indian/Hindu texts, with attention to textual analogues from other religions. No Sanskrit required, but may be useful for optional reading.
Enrollment Limited: Limited to 15 students. Instructor's permission required.
