Sufi Traditions in Persian Literature

Description
Readings in classical Persian literature from Rudaki and Attar to Rumi and Hafez, with emphasis on fundamental themes of the Sufi tradition. Practice in grammar and composition at an advanced level will develop the student's ability to read high literary texts, both in prose and poetry. Prerequisite: At least two years of Persian or equivalent.
