Organization Description:

Cross Cultural Medical Association is organized for the purpose of promoting assistance to immigrants from around the world. Activities include, but not limited to: the promotion of education, classes for limited speakers of English, seminars and workshops, trainings and literacy programs. We serve the international community, including black, white, Hispanic, Asian, African, Haitian, and other ethnic groups. The focus on projects may vary, including health fairs, wellness clinics, tutoring one-on-one, field days, office work, education, literacy, English as a Second Language, and music lessons.

Opportunities for Student Involvement:

A field education student will meet with the supervisor on an individual basis for the appropriate support. The student will participate or head fundraising efforts on behalf of the Association. In addition, the student may participate in administrative duties and serve as a networking official for the organization. The student will also be able to co-lead conferences and seminars by inviting interested groups and companies.

Commute/Transportation Information:

Accessible by public transportation up to Mattapan Square. From there it is a 5 minute ride by bus. There is parking available if the student has a car.

Supervision:

Weekly meetings with supervisor.
