First Parish Church in Duxbury
The First Parish Church was gathered in 1632 and worships in a large 1840 meetinghouse. It has an adult membership of 260 and church school enrollment of 160. Duxbury is a beautiful, low-density, affluent town of 14,000, 35 miles south of Boston. The church has an active program of worship, religious education, music, social activities and denominational and community involvement. The staff includes a full-time director of religious education.
Opportunities for Student Involvement:
As the Ministerial Intern, the student will engage in many of the tasks of parish ministry. The specifics will be negotiated depending on the student's learning needs and the needs of the church.
