Newton Wellesley Hospital is a 250 bed community hospital and a member of the Partners Healthcare Consortium. Our patients reflect the diverse population of the greater Boston area. The Protestant Chaplain, Chaplain Interns and Pastoral Care Visitors provide pastoral care to people from most of the world's raith traditions. We also have strong links to local faith communities. The hospital is fully accessible.

Opportunities for Student Involvement:

Students will be in ministry in medical specialty areas including; the Intensive Care Unit, maternity floor and Special Care Nursery, pediatric and medical/surgical units. Opportunities for leading worship are available. Didactic sessions include end of life issues, doing spiritual assessments, providing spiritual care to people from many religious traditions, ministering with families, and exploring faith communities' responses to the changing health care needs of congregants. Exploring pastoral identity and new visions of ministry are an important part of our program. Our education process is based on an action/reflection model of ministry grounded in feminist liberation theology.
