Union Baptist Church
The historic Union Baptist Church is a predominantly Black congregation located in the heart of Cambridge. This church was founded in 1878. Most of the early members of this parish were descendants of slaves from the South and Nova Scotia. This church's present edifice was built in 1882, and the membership at this time stands at a little over 600, with an average Sunday attendance of 300.
Opportunities for Student Involvement:
The field education site calls for a student who is looking for a parish related experience in a traditional Black Church setting and is willing to make some significant contribution to its on-going commitment to this community.
