Unitarian Universalist Congregation - Andover
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Andover (UUCiA) is a vibrant, small religious community 25 miles north of Boston nestled in the Merrimack Valley. Our energy springs from the congregation's commitment to religious growth and development. We are intentionally interfaith in a UU context. Our worship is inter-generational and our space is flexible with movable lectern and chairs. Thus, we often worship in an egalitarian circle and incorporate aspects of world religions into our programming. We are a diversified community including, youth, young adults, partnered and single, midlife adults, elders, gay, straight and varied ethnicity's. UUCiA has an active Women's Spirituality program, a strong commitment to Social Justice, and a burgeoning Youth Group. The Women's Spirituality group sponsors lectures and adult religious education courses for the congregation and its neighbors. Unlike many affluent suburbs we are in close proximity to the inner city issues facing the City of Lawrence. We work faithfully to break down the economic, ethnic, and social barriers that separate Andover from Lawrence. The Social Justice program works to create bridges between the two. Our Youth Group is visible and involved in the congregation and within the local community. With almost three dozen members, our Youth Group adds a special energy to congregational life.
