Organization Description:

Young Adult and Graduate Student ministry within our larger Christian ministry of and to members of the academic communities of Cambridge and greater Boston. We are a Reconciling in Christ congregation seeking greater inclusivity in our church for people of all sexual orientations. We prize the diversity of young and old, students and resident members who come to hear the Word of God proclaimed and receive the sacraments, to be nourished in faith, to ponder deep questions, and to care for one another.

Opportunities for Student Involvement:

The student will work with the supervising pastor and current group leadership within the UniLu group called "YAGS" (Young Adult/Grad Students) to strengthen outreach to this diverse, dynamic group in their 20s and 30s who bring to our church their energetic faith questions and affirmations, along with their desire for community. Cooperatively with current YAGS members, the student will build and coordinate communications for a program including gatherings for meals and conversation, movie-going, retreats, service projects, camping and hiking trips. The student also would do significant outreach by way of one-to-one conversations with members of this group. The position requires 12 hours of work each week, with regular involvement in Sunday morning worship a priority.
