Visit HDS

We encourage prospective applicants to visit the Harvard Divinity School campus. A visit to campus allows prospective students to make a personal connection with students, staff, faculty, and campus life. It is also a good opportunity to visit Harvard Square, Cambridge, and Boston.

To schedule a visit to the HDS campus, please contact our Student Admissions Representatives at ask_students@hds.harvard.edu or 617.495.0639. They will help you create an itinerary for your visit based on your interests and availability.

The Office of Admissions offers prospective students a number of opportunities to meet members of the HDS community and experience life at HDS. These opportunities include:

  • Small-group information sessions with a member of the admissions staff.
  • Conversation series with administrators, denominational counselors, and other leaders on campus.
  • Tours of the the HDS campus, led by a current HDS student. Tours are available Tuesday-Friday.
  • Visits to current HDS classes. Please review the list of classes open to visitors for spring 2012.  On the day of the class, please arrive at the Office of Admissions 15 minutes before the class start time to check on the location and pick up a nametag.  All visitors should arrive to classes on time and stay for the entire class.
  • Public Events going on at HDS
  • Community Tea, Tuesdays at 4:30-6 pm. Community Tea offers a chance for students, faculty, and staff to engage in informal conversation over beverages and food. It is a time to relax, refuel, and reconnect with the community.
  • Noon Service at HDS, Wednesdays, 12:10-12:45 pm. Hosted each week by a different religious community of the HDS campus, and overseen by a steering committee of students and the director of religious and spiritual life, this service allows all in the HDS community to pray with our companions across the boundaries of our many respective traditions.
