Admissions and Financial Aid

Welcome to Harvard Divinity School! We are delighted that you are interested in learning more about our programs. As you explore our website, you will see we work to follow Harvard University's charter mission of perpetuating a "learned ministry."

The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid strives to attract a vibrant mix of applicants notable for their academic talent and formative life experiences, and representing a diversity of backgrounds and career aspirations likely to enhance the HDS academic community.

To further those goals, financial aid is distributed on an equitable and sustained basis to all students who demonstrate financial need. The policies and practices of the office coalesce in producing a community of students pursuing scholarly and ministerial goals that embrace the ethnic, theological, and denominational diversity of our world.

We encourage you to consider visiting HDS, particularly during our two fall events. We host the Diversity and Explorations Program: Exploring Opportunities in Ministry and Graduate Theological Studies in October, and our annual open house, Theological Education Day, takes place in November.

If you are not able to attend our events, we encourage you to consider a visit during the academic year when classes are in session. To schedule a visit, please call 617.495.5796 or email our office. If you cannot travel to Cambridge, you may be able to meet with an admissions representative visiting your area.
