Visiting the School
We encourage all prospective applicants to visit Harvard
Divinity School in order to get a sense of campus life and the academic
environment in which you might study. Here are some
activities to consider including in your visit.

Information Sessions
- Although formal interviews are not required for admission, information
sessions are offered by our admissions officers. These meetings are informal
conversations guided by the individual questions of the prospective student.
-
To schedule an information session, please call 617.495.5796 or email our office
at admissions@hds.harvard.edu.
-
If you are unable to visit campus, we are happy to offer you a
telephone information session with an admissions officer. To schedule a
telephone information session, please call 617.495.5796 or
email our office at admissions@hds.harvard.edu.
Tours
- Tours of the HDS campus are student-led and may be scheduled to coincide
with an information session.
- To schedule a tour, please call 617.495.5796 or email our office at admissions@hds.harvard.edu.
Visiting Classes
- During the fall and spring semesters, prospective students are invited to
sample the academic life of the School by attending HDS classes. Please see our
listing of spring 2008 classes open to visitors.
- In the meantime, please visit the HDS Course
Listings and Meet
the Faculty
pages to learn more about academic life at Harvard Divinity School.

Events for Prospective Students
- On October 22-24, 2008, HDS will host the
Diversity
and Explorations Program: Exploring Opportunities in Ministry and Graduate
Theological Studies, designed for talented undergraduate students
who, as minorities, are underrepresented in graduate theological education,
but who may be interested in learning more about theological education, as
well as for those whose experiences and backgrounds suggest a commitment to
diversity and an interest in ministry, social justice, or professional
careers and their intersections with graduate theological education.
- Our annual open house, Theological Education Day,
will be held in November 2008. This day-long event offers the opportunity to meet faculty, admissions
representatives, current students, and other prospective students.
Accommodations, Directions, and Parking
- See Directions to the School for information on getting to HDS,
including a link to the campus map.
- Unfortunately, parking is extremely limited at the Divinity School and at the
University in general. A one-day visitor pass is available for $10.00 and may be obtained from the
Parking
Office. We strongly encourage the use of
public transportation, metered parking in the area around the Divinity
School (Oxford and Kirkland Streets), or parking garages in Harvard
Square. Please note that any vehicle without a permit parked in a Harvard lot may be towed!
- For those planning an overnight visit, our Accommodations
page lists hotels, inns, and bed-and-breakfasts.
