How to make a gift

Why give to Harvard Divinity School?

  • To enable leaders from around the world to study religion, regardless of economic circumstances, thanks to a financial aid policy that provided grants to 92% of master’s degree students in 2012-2013.
  • To advance knowledge and understanding of global religion by supporting HDS faculty, nearly half of whom do not occupy an endowed chair.
  • To shape the global conversation on religion by convening leaders, scholars, and the public in comfortable, modern campus facilities, which are 100% supported by current use funds.

All gifts have an impact

Gifts of any amount matter. Without gifts of $10, $25, $50, $100, $250, and $500 in 2012-13, the School would have had thousands of dollars less for student financial aid and other critical priorities.

Gifts of $1,000 or more are recognized with membership on the HDS Leadership Council. Members serve as the School’s ambassadors to communities across the world. In recognition of their leadership-level giving, the members of the Leadership Council are invited to an annual meeting in Cambridge each spring.
