Mission
"The mission of HDS Alumni/ae of African Descent is to connect alumni and alumnae
with each other and with the School in a community of service committed to harnessing our
spiritual and intellectual power for the advancement of peoples of African Descent through
scholarship, ministry, and advocacy. This community of service will pursue its mission
within the context of the challenges facing people of African Descent in a pluralistic,
multicultural society. Consecration to this mission will exert a transformative influence
on the lives of present and future
alumni as well as Harvard Divinity School itself." —HDS AAD Mission Statement
