Allen Callahan, PhD '92

Allen Callahan is Professor of New Testament at the Baptist Theological Seminary of the Northeast in Bahia, Brazil and author of The Talking Book: African Americans and the Bible.

The Reverend Dr. Arthur Whitaker, STB '52

Dr. Whitaker, who was pastor of Rochester's Mount Olivet Baptist Church from 1956 to 1966, wrote the report "Anatomy of a Riot" after the 1964 riots in that city. His report was read into The Congressional Record and published in newspapers and NAACP journals. He has served as lecturer at the University of Rochester, as well as at HDS. He is a licensed counseling psychologist and was a founding member of the Black Alumni/ae Network at HDS.
