Career Counseling and Consultations
Career
counseling
is available by appointment to all students and alumni/ae of
HDS degree programs. For alumni/ae, minimal
fees may apply in some cases to cover the cost of materials.
To schedule an appointment with
Gail Liebhaber, director of career services, simply email her assistant, Branden
Grimmett, noting your availability on
approaching Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Counseling
sessions generally assist in identifying
potential professional fields or goals. They
may include
counseling combined with personality and
motivation assessments, such as the
Myers Briggs Type Indicator or Strong Interest
Inventory. Sessions may also include more
interactive exercises.
Also
available are career consultations of many
types, including professional planning and
credentialing strategies, networking assistance, interview preparation and
coaching, or preparation for salary negotiation.
Please
note that for students interested in ministry,
career counseling is not to be confused with denominational counseling, which
is available through the Office
of Ministry Studies and/or the ordaining body.
Career counseling is also not to be confused with academic advising, available
through faculty advisors.
