About the Speaker (2006)

Bron Taylor is Samuel S. Hill Professor of Religion and Environmental Ethics at the University of Florida. He has written widely about the religious and ethical dimensions of environmental movements around the world. His books include Ecological Resistance Movements: The Global Emergence of Radical and Popular Environmentalism and the Encyclopedia of Religion and Nature (Continuum, 2005). At the University of Florida he is developing an innovative, interdisciplinary PhD program in religion, with an emphasis on nature-human relationships. He is also leading an international effort to establish the Society for the Study of Religion, Nature, and Culture, and a corresponding journal.
