Open Position in Theology

Harvard Divinity School invites applications and nominations for a new faculty appointment in Theology.  We seek a scholar at the junior or senior level who engages with the theology, traditions, and the legacy of the Protestant reformations.  We are particularly interested in someone with constructive interests; theological engagement with ethical, social, and/or political dimensions of contemporary life is also desired.

Familiarity with forms of analysis that address race, gender, and social location is expected, as is the desire to collaborate across academic boundaries in our wider curricular and intellectual enterprises. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Divinity School’s curricula, including the multi-religious Master of Divinity, the Masters of Theological Studies, and the Doctor of Theology, as well as the Ph.D. in the Study of Religion and undergraduate (A.B.) programs based in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

Excellence in teaching and research is required.  Applicants must also be competent in research languages appropriate to their specialties.  The doctoral degree must be held by July 1, 2014.
