John White Chadwick (1840-1904) was the minister of the Second Unitarian Church in Brooklyn, N.Y., from 1864 until his death. As a theologian, he was concerned about the implications of Darwin's theory of evolution. He was a supporter of the Free Religion movement. He was also a poet and the author of biographies of Theodore Parker (1900) and William Ellery Channing. [Photo: bMS 1446/27]
