Manage Citations with RefWorks and Get Free Pizza

In celebration of Theological Libraries Month, the library staff cordially invites Harvard Divinity School students to have pizza and see a presentation on RefWorks on Wednesday, October 17, from 5 to 6 pm, in the Rabinowitz Room on the third floor of the library. The free pizza is limited to the first 25 students who RSVP to reference@hds.harvard.edu. We'll demonstrate RefWorks and answer questions while you eat.

RefWorks, a web-based bibliographic management tool, enables you to manage research results with greater ease. You can create a personal database of citations by importing records (from HOLLIS, for example, or the ATLA Religion Database) or by entering information manually. You can then use these citations to:

  • Generate a formatted bibliography in seconds
  • Insert references automatically into documents composed in Microsoft Word
  • Manage RSS feeds
  • Share data with colleagues

Once you create an individual account on the RefWorks server, you can access your data from anywhere. An excellent collaborative tool, RefWorks is compatible with EndNote, but, unlike EndNote, does not require special software on your computer.

RefWorks is available to Harvard students, faculty, and staff with a current Harvard ID and PIN. Tutorials and documentation are available on the RefWorks website once you create an individual account and log in.

For more information, consult a librarian.
