Celebrate Theological Libraries Month
Andover-Harvard Theological Library is joining other libraries in the United States and Canada in October 2008 to celebrate Theological Libraries Month. We began the celebration at the HDS Community Tea on September 30 by revealing and celebrating the library's half-millionth acquisition: Earthen Vessels: Hopeful Reflections on the Work and Future of Theological Schools by Daniel Aleshire (Grand Rapids: William B. Eerdmans, 2008).
Additional events include:
- Thursday, October 2, 3:30-5:30 pm: Tea, Cookies, and Conversation (first floor)
- Wednesday, October 15, 4-5 pm: Book-signing by Dr. Aleshire (Rabinowitz Room), followed by his lecture celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Boston Theological Institute (see the BTI website for details)
- Thursday, October 16, 3:30-5:30 pm: Tea, Cookies, and Conversation (first floor)
- Monday, October 20, 3-4 pm: A Half-Million Books and Millions of Articles: Finding the Right Articles for Your Research (Rabinowitz Room). Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to reference@hds.harvard.edu.

Theological Libraries Month is sponsored by the American Theological Library Association (ATLA). Established in 1946, ATLA is a professional association of more than 1,000 individual, institutional, and affiliate members providing programs, products, and services in support of theological and religious studies libraries and librarians. ATLA's ecumenical membership represents many religious traditions and denominations. ATLA also provides access to the scholarly literature of religion and preserves it for future generations.
