The Opening of Women’s Studies

On February 3, Bernadette Brooten, Robert and Myra Kraft and Jacob Hiatt Professor of Christian Studies at Brandeis University and 2011-12 Visiting Scholar at the Women's Studies in Religion Program at HDS, presented "The Opening of Women's Studies: Constance Buchanan and Women's Leadership." Constance Buchanan, who is an author, consultant, and former associate dean at HDS and senior program officer for religion at the Ford Foundation, then presented "Why the Program's Potential for Public Impact is Crucial." A subsequent question and answer session was moderated by Ann Braude, director of the Women's Studies in Religion Program and Senior Lecturer in American Religious History at HDS.
