The Rev. Gloria E. White-Hammond, MDiv ’97, was the first speaker in a series of Divinity Dialogues, held October 11 in Divinity Chapel. White-Hammond is the co-pastor of Bethel AME Church, Boston, executive director of My Sister’s Keeper, and a retired pediatrician from the South End Community Health Center. She has worked extensively in some of Boston's most challenged communities and has made numerous trips to war-torn southern Sudan, Darfur, and Chad, where many of her service initiatives are based. Her life's work has focused particularly on the empowerment of women and the promotion of sustainable peace.
