Race, Religion, Politics: Tillich and the Black Preacher

On November 1, HDS alumnus the Rev. Dr. Charles Adams (BD '64), senior pastor of the Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan, for 33 years (and a student of Tillich's), delivered the Tillich Lecture in the Memorial Church. Dr. Adams is a renowned preacher, activist, and leader in faith-based economic development who has spoken before such bodies as the United Nations and the World Council of Churches.
