The First Women Students at HDS

The pioneering women who entered Harvard Divinity School in the mid-twentieth century will share their recollections and reflections on HDS and the world then and now. Parvey, Hoehler, Mann Mazur, and Fousek were among the first women who enrolled at HDS in 1955. Karefa-Smart was the first female African American doctoral recipient at HDS, entering in the early 1970s.

Ann Braude, Senior Lecturer on American Religious History and Director of the Women's Studies in Religion Program, introduced the panelists.
