Faith in Boston: How Congregations Matter in a Changing
Metropolis
Session II: Congregations, Communities, and Social Capital
(May
2004)
Simon Mainwaring, an HDS student
pursuing a ThM (master's in theological studies) degree delivers a
presentation based on studies of several Boston-area churches. His
presentation serves as a jumping-off point for a roundtable discussion
featuring Ms. Dana Baker (Grace Chapel), the Rev. Ellis Clifton, Jr. (St. Mary's
Episcopal Church), the Rev. Daniel Finn (St. Mark's Catholic Church), and Rabbi
Jonah Pesner (Temple Israel). This is the
second panel of a day-long conference
on "Faith in Boston: How Congregations Matter in a Changing Metropolis"
held April 30 in the Braun Room. Elfriede Wedam, of the Religion in
Urban America Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, provided
closing comments.
