Faith in Boston: How Congregations Matter in a Changing
Metropolis
Session III: The Multicultural Metropolis and the Religious
Construction of Race
(May
2004)
Following a demonstration on ministry through dance by Denise Seymour (Roxbury Presbyterian Church), Terri Cissé, a first-year MDiv
(master of divinity) student at HDS, presents "The Multicultural Metropolis and the Religious Construction of Race," based on her studies of several Boston-area houses of worship. This is the third panel of a day-long conference on "Faith in Boston: How Congregations Matter in a Changing Metropolis" held April 30 in the Braun Room. A roundtable discussion with
the Rev. Hurmon Hamilton (Roxbury Presbyterian Church), the Rev. Daniel Harrell (Park Street Church), and
the Rev. John Heinemeier (Resurrection Lutheran Church) follows this presentation.
