Theorizing Race and Ethnicity in Theology and the Study of Religion
Speaker Series

On October 22, Rudy Busto, MTS '82 and Associate Professor of
Asian American/Pacific Islander & Chican@/Latin@ Religions in the Department of
Religious Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara,
delivered the inaugural lecture in this speaker series, which is part of
the Religion and Society doctoral colloquium. This series, intended to
"bring rising scholars, whose work theorizes race and ethnicity in
theology and the study of religion" to HDS during the 2007-08 academic
year, is supported
by the HDS Dean's Office and the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for
Faculty Development and Diversity, Harvard University. Ronald Thiemann,
Bussey Professor of Theology, delivered welcoming remarks and Davíd Carrasco, Neil L. Rudenstine
Professor of the Study of Latin America, introduced the speaker.
