The Lutheran Ministry at M.I.T. is a Christian presence in a secularized institute. The ministry focuses on a weekly Eucharist and community supper. Scripture study, discussion groups, counseling, social action/service projects, fellowship, ecumenical and interfaith activities, and outreach to Lutheran, lbgt, and other interested students constitute the program, which functions with the Episcopal Ministry at M.I.T.
Student
Involvement: The students participation in the ministry is designed to facilitate the conversation between faith and science, and assist the Lutheran chaplain. In academic year 2005-6, one of the key components of this faith/science conversation is to serve as liaison between the Honduras FloodSafe service learning project of the Lutheran Episcopal Ministry (LEM) at MIT and the Edgerton Center, and the larger LEM community. Other tasks include participation in mid-week worship and supper, meeting with students, and may include leading discussion groups, and being available to the wider M.I.T. community for consultation on matters of faith and science

Supervision: Student will be part of a ministry team, accountable to the Lutheran chaplain. Weekly supervisory sessions.

Total Stipend: $4,000.00
Type of Stipend: direct pay from site (sc 4000)
