Project: Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church (MABC) of Cambridge is an historically urban Black church founded in 1890. It is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA and the National Baptist Convention USA. The congregation is ethnically diverse and attracts to its services newcomers to the city and college students. Its goal is to minister spiritual renewal, revitalization and transformation to the community & broader region in which it is planted and equip for service and good deeds. One such deed includes serving the hungry/homeless population. MABC is an evangelical, full gospel ministry with an emphasis on personal discipleship, the authority of the Word of God and God-exalted worship.

Student Involvement: The church is looking for a student to work in the following areas: 1) Liaison to College Communities 2) Young Adult Outreach 3) Young Adult Program Development: Enhancing an initial prototype; Developing business plan; Researching program funding sources; compiling research on and stories of targeted young adult population; presenting to relevant groups.

Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development.

Supervision: One hour weekly with Supervisor and periodic meetings with ministerial staff.

Total Stipend: $4,000.00
