Harvard Yard Contact Person: Dorothy Austin Project: The Memorial Church, a non-denominational Protestant Church, is open to all members of the Harvard community for both Sunday services and daily morning prayers. The Minister or Associate Minister in The Memorial Church normally presides on Sundays, but the pulpit is frequently occupied by distinguished religious leaders from all over the world. Student Involvement: Students in The Memorial Church will assist in the conducting of services, as well as develop programs for the church school, undergraduate and graduate students and adults associated with the University Church. Working with the Minister, the student will be part of staff planning connected with both the program in religious education and the work of the Harvard Chaplains to students at Harvard. Students will have the opportunity to preach at the Morning Prayer Service as well as the Sunday Night Student Service. Responsibilities will demonstrate the variety of work that is involved in a university church and chaplaincy program. Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development. Supervision: Student will be supervised by the Minister.
