Project: The student will have a full range of parish ministry and community service, advocacy and organizing in a small urban congregation with a strong neighborhood presence. Hospitality, advocacy and community organizing are high priorities.

Student Involvement: The student will assist with preaching, weekly Bible study, Sunday school and general parish duties as well as community organizing - both in the neighborhood and through the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO) Working with people from different racial, cultural and linguistic groups is a daily occurrence. Student need not be Lutheran.

Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development. Public Leadership, Community Organizing and Planning.

Supervision: Student will meet weekly with pastor and monthly with the student support committee.

Total Stipend: $4,000.00
