Project:
The U.U. Church of Reading is a growing vibrant community with 280 members and 150 children in the religious education program. We have a diversity of ages, with young families predominating and contributing to our recent growth. Lay leadership is strong in all areas: committees, program development, worship arts, planning and governing. Unique features of site this year includes $2.85 million building project. Student will experience a church undergoing facilities growth, and all the resultant systemic challenges. Church will also begin implementation of five-year Membership Development Plan, so student will gain invaluable first-hand experience and leadership opportunities in membership growth and change management. Site supervisor provides special emphasis on dynamic worship and creating engaging childrens worship. Reading is a suburban town, 12 miles north of Boston. While it is on a commuter rail line from North Station, a car is needed.
