Project: The Chaplaincy at Brown University is a multi-faith institutional office whose mission is to promote the religious, spiritual and ethical life of the university community and represent the Biblical and religious faith traditions in the quest for knowledge, justice and truth. The University Chaplains advocate religious faith as a way to a viable world view and as a basis for personal and community well-being. This mission includes enabling the formation of mature and healthy individual and institutional consciences for supporting those social forces which conflict with this vision.

Student Involvement: A Chaplaincy Intern might be involved in the following: worship leadership - weekly and occasional; program development, e.g., weekly Interfaith supper and discussion program, pastoral care, and study groups; weekly Bereavement Group; general work with faculty, staff and students; a variety of possible settings including Ecumenical Protestant, Imani Jubilee Worship, Women's spirituality, staff development, Muslim Student Association, the Multi-faith Council and student leadership development, as well as general pastoral care and program.

Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development.
