Project: Infact is a national grassroots organization with a 25-year history of waging corporate campaigns - and winning! Infact's purpose is to stop life-threatening abuses by transnational corporations and increase their accountability to people around the world. Infact's core constituency is consumers across all demographic groups (class, race, religion, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, and gender). While nearly all people are negatively affected by corporate abuses, Infact has repeatedly seen that economically poor people, women, children, and communities of color are most adversely affected by the abuses of transnational corporations. Infact's current campaign to hold the tobacco industry accountable for its deadly practices is international in scope, and relies on support from diverse religious communities across the US.

Student Involvement: INFACT's Religious Outreach Program offers divinity students the opportunity to work with religious leaders and congregations to build faith-based involvement in campaigns for corporate accountability and social justice. Specific projects will include organizing religious leaders and activists at the local, regional, and national level; preparing grant applications to religious institutions; and conducting outreach to faith-based media.

Supervision: The student will meet each week with the Associate Campaign Director for planning, evaluation, reflection, and consultation.
