Field Education HandbookCharles Street AME Church
551 Warren Street Contact Person: Rev. Gregory Groover Project: This field education setting is for a person interested in working with young people in Christian Education and an after-school tutorial program which meets twice a week from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. The tutorial program is a component of the Marcheta H. Taylor Enrichment Program which has recently received a grant from the Larsen Foundation to purchase computers to be used in the program. Therefore, the student should be computer literate or interested in learning. The student can also participate in the various worship services and observe the various board meetings when time permits. Student Involvement: The student will attend the tutorial sessions twice a week and board meetings when possible. The student is welcome to attend the various worship services. Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development. Supervision: The student is expected to meet weekly with the minister and monthly with the entire ministerial staff.
