The Arlington Street Church, a historic congregation in downtown Boston, has a progressive membership of approximately 300, many of whom are Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender persons. There are 45 children enrolled in religious education programming. Opportunities for ministry unique to this setting include issues of:
*Urban Setting (including homelessness, hunger, mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction)
*local and global social justice
*large numbers of people coming to Unitarian Universalism from other religious traditions
*families with children who have special needs
Student
Involvement: The student may participate in such areas of ministry as:
*planning and leading intergenerational and mid-week worship
*preaching and rites of passage
*planning, coordinating and teaching children, youth and adult religious education
*working with Arlington StreetÂ’s Jubilee initiative ("the church has left the church!") or the Social Action committee
*working with the UU Affairs committee to facilitate connections between the church and the UUA
*supporting the thriving young adult ministry and small group ministry
In addition to these areas, there will be ongoing opportunities for pastoral care and counseling, and for learning about the overall administration of the church.

Supervision: half time with Rev. Crawford Harvie; half time with Rev. Jane Rzepka (Church of the Larger Fellowship)

Total Stipend: $15,000.00
Type of Stipend: direct pay from site (sc 15000)
Notes: The Arlington Street Church and the Church of the Larger Fellowship offer a joint full-time internship. Half of the stipend is funded by ASC, half by CLF. See the Church of the Larger Fellowship description for further details on this internship.
