Project:
Peace Lutheran Church is a suburban congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Through its thirty-five years of ministry in Wayland, Peace has been the ministry site for seminarians from University Divinity Schools and from Lutheran seminaries. A field education student could choose one of three tracks:
1. Youth and family ministry. The field education student would work with youth from Peace Lutheran Church and the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Wayland. The student would be supported by clergy and lay leaders from both congregations.
2. Parish ministry, with a special emphasis on youth and family ministry at Peace Lutheran Church and human rights advocacy work with Search for Justice in Palestine/Israel (searchforjustice.org). The human rights organization work would involve fund-raising, event organizing, some writing and data base management. This track will appeal to a student interested in the Middle East.
3. Parish ministry, with special emphasis on youth and family ministry at Peace Lutheran Church and early childhood education in our Little Dove Early Childhood Center, a morning program for toddlers. This track will appeal to a student with training in or special interest in early childhood education.
Student

Supervision: The pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Wayland would be the primary and general supervisor. If a student chooses track 2 or 3 above, then secondary and task supervision would come from either the director of Search or from the director of Little Dove Early Childhood Center. A committee comprised of members of Peace Lutheran Church would meet regularly with the student for support and evaluation.
