Project:
The Melrose Unitarian Universalist is a growing church community with 150 adults and 85 children. It has an active church school under the guidance of Mandy Neff, Director of Religious Education. Melrose has population f 28,000 and is located seven miles north of Boston. Recently it has become a "Welcoming Congregation"reaching out of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender population. Its adult education program offers oppurtunities for community paticipation ans its social action commitment includes :Bread of Life" program as well as an international connection with a Partner Church in Romania. The present challenge is to move from a "small" church to a "program church. The congregation is eager to meet this challenge.
Student
Involvement: The student is expected to participate n the worship services as well as to offer adult education programs for life-span religious education. The congregation is hoping to begin the "covenant group" project offering an excellent opportunity for the student to organize and support such a project. There will be an oppurtunity to work as a member of the parish staff participating in all aspects of ministry.

Preaching and Worship.

Religious Education and Spiritual Development.
Administration and Program Development.
Supervision: The minister supervisor will meet with the student once a week for one hour. There will also be opportunities for the student to meet the Director of Religious Education.

Total Stipend: $4,000.00
Type of Stipend: direct pay from site (sc 4000)
