23 Dedham Ave. Contact Person: John A. Buehrens, Minister Project: An historic and progressive church, transforming itself from a pastoral congregation to a program church under new ministerial leadership. Community outreach, service projects, youth and young adult programs, adult spiritual development, urban-suburban connection, and social action are all being emphasized. 275 adult members and growing, with an average attendance of 135 adults and 85 children/ 25+ in the youth group. Student Involvement: Part-time two year internship. CPE a prerequisite. Willingness to undertake youth and young adult ministry preferred. Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development. Denominational Polity. Supervision: The minister is an experienced internship supervisor, supported by DRE Irene Praeger and a lay internship committee. Number of Students: 1 Total Stipend: $7,800.00 Type of Stipend: direct pay from site (sc 7800) Notes: Needham is accessible by commuter rail from South Station, but access to an automobile would be preferable. $500.00 for professional expenses.
