Project:
A short walk from the MBTA bus line. The Council On Aging, a municipal agency, provides advocacy and support services to help elders live independent and dignified lives. Services include information and referral, care planning and management, counseling and family support, health care services, meals on wheels, transportation, benefits counseling, educational programs, and advocacy.
Student
Involvement: The student/intern will have considerable freedom in designing his/her own project, with inclusion of outreach advocacy and direct assistance to frail homebound elderly. Responsibilities may include addressing the elderly's spiritual needs by direct contact with clients, interface with local churches and congregations, and participating in scheduled seminars with other staff and student/interns (nursing, social work) at the site.

Pastoral Care and Counseling.
Administration and Program Development.
Public Leadership, Community Organizing and Planning.
Supervision: Weekly with supervisor; additionally as indicated. Consultation with senior staff is available.
