43 Silver St. Contact Person: Rev. Judith L. Kinley Project: First Congregational Church is a congregation of the United Church of Christ. We are a growing community church in an increasingly diverse community where there is strong cooperation among the various faith and spiritual traditions. We have 140 members with an average Sunday attendance of 80. The membership is committed to a renewed life in the Spirit and we have initiated several new programs in Christian education, spiritual growth, and in mission. Student Involvement: The student will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the life of a community church. The student will be expected to participate regularly in leading worship and will preach at least twice a semester. Other responsibilities will be arranged according to the needs of the congregation and the interests of the student. They may include leading adult study groups, working with the children of the church in their Sunday classes or mission programs, providing pastoral care in hospitals and nursing homes, involvement in ecumenical and interfaith activities, or creative endeavors initiated by the student. Supervision: The student will be supervised by the pastor. Goals and objectives will be mutually agreed upon and weekly meetings will support and assess progress on these goals.
