Project:
Field Education students at Good Shepherd have the opportunity to participate in many of the traditional tasks of parish ministry: preaching, worship leadership and planning, pastoral care, teaching, fellowship, and ministry committees. Additionally, the student has the unique opportunity to observe an open and affirming RIC congregation that is attempting to connect with its community in new ways, especially the large and growing Asian community that exists within its geographical parish.
Student
Involvement: The student would be expected to participate fully in the life of the congregation and would be encouraged to share insight and reflections about the ministry and the student's experiences in the ministry. The student would be encouraged to try new ideas/initiatives as they fit in with the ministry programs of the congregation.
Arts of Ministry Competencies:
Preaching and Worship.
Pastoral Care and Counseling.
Administration and Program Development.
Supervision: Weekly supervision sessions between the pastor and the student will be offered. Monthly meetings between the student and a Field Education Committee of members of the congregation will also be offered.
Number of Students: 1
Total Stipend: $4,000.00
Type of Stipend: direct pay from site (sc 4000)
