121 W. Foster St. Contact Person: Rev. Dominic Taranowski Project: First Congregational Church is large, active church with active laity. Our cornerstone ministries are in the areas of Christian Education (our Sunday School has some 60-70 children and youth registered) and Music (we have five different music groups). We are decidedly progressive in both theology and practice and serve a middleclass, bedroom, suburban community on the Northshore. Student Involvement: We are committed to providing a broad based experience to include leadership opportunities in the following areas: oversight of our Sunday School program (teacher support, curriculum development, etc.), leadership of middle school and high school youth groups, preaching and liturgical leadership, pastoral calling and visitation, evangelism and church administration. Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development. Supervision: One hour a week sessions with the Pastor. Meetings with lay support committee. Attendance at Staff Meetings. Occasional theological reflection papers.
