Project: The Episcopal Chaplaincy at Harvard ministers to believers and seekers who are undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard and surrounding campuses. The ministry focuses on a weekly Sunday evening Eucharist with hymns from the Episcopal tradition, followed by a community meal. Bible study, discussion groups, counseling, service projects, fellowship, ecumenical and interfaith activities, and study form other parts of our program, depending on student interest.

Student Involvement: The ministry seeks to deepen students' faith by asking questions rather than providing easy answers. These are the questions of traditional theology who is God, who are we as creatures, who is Jesus Christ, what are our responsibilities to God and to one another? As well as the questions of a secular university and how do we live together, where is knowledge leading us, what role are we to play in the world? An HDS field-education student would be expected to participate in, and help facilitate, this conversation. Other tasks include preaching and leadership in worship, meeting individually with students, and leading discussion groups. The seminarian and chaplain will discuss specifics about where the seminarian's talents will be best used and best challenged.

Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development.

Supervision: Student will be part of a ministry team with the chaplain. Bi-weekly supervisory sessions.
