4 Nancy Lane Contact Person: Rev. Dr. Fran Bogle Project: Just Peace Ministry is a multi-faceted and designed to challenge and support faith communities and individuals as they work for peace and justice from a variety of faith perspectives. The Just Peace Players, a liturgical drama troupe is a major component of this ministry. The Just Arts Collective which brings artists together to explore the connections between art, spirituality and justice is another component. We also have a dialogue program that brings Chinese pastors and scholars to the US and takes US pastors and scholars to China. Working with community organizations, UCC Conference Task Teams doing advocacy for peace and justice issues, and creating resources for faith communities are also important parts of this ministry. Student Involvement: Students are encouraged to develop their own program which combines different elements of this ministry. This can include: joining the Just Peace Players liturgical drama group and writing and performing plays on peace and justice issues, creating art and justice resources with the Just Arts Collective, doing advocacy with the homeless, working with the LGBTI community, supporting the China Program, doing ministry with urban youth, working at the Walker Center for Ecumenical Studies and creating a wide variety of faith centered resources to empower people to work for justice. A flexible schedule is necessary as is access to transportation. Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Public Leadership, Community Organizing and Planning. Denominational Polity. Supervision: Weekly individual supervision is provided by Rev. Bogle. Students are in ministry for 10-12 hours per week and receive will 75 hours of travel and off-site preparation time.
